DRILLING SUPERVISOR

Downer EDI Mining is a growing and dynamic business and is one of Australia’s leading providers of mining and mine development services. 

We are currently seeking a motivated and proactive Drilling Supervisor to join our team in the Bowen Basin in Central Queensland.

You will possess a positive attitude towards health and safety and thrive on the challenge to meet production targets. The ideal person will demonstrate technical and functional expertise in drilling with proven operational, motivational, planning and coordination skills.

The successful applicant will be experienced in supervising for the following types of drilling:

• Deep hole diamond drilling and directional drilling
• Dual purpose top head drive rigs
• Deep reverse circulation
• Rotary mud / rotary air to depth

It is essential that you posses the following:

• Minimum 5 years industry experience
• Current BOP ticket (supervisory level)
• S1, S2, S3
• Certificate IV in drilling (diploma preferred)
• Certificate IV trainer & assessor
• ICAM, Taproot or similar
• Senior First Aid Certificate
• HC truck licence
• Forklift ticket

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensuring that materials required for uninterrupted operations are available when needed and scheduling staff rotations
• Ensure all drilling operations apply a high standard of HSE and operational best practices whilst meeting business needs and maintaining excellent client relations
• Ensure that all OHS safety management systems, regulatory and environmental guidelines are followed
• Supervision and training of drill crews 
• Safety audit reports and drilling reports

A generous remuneration will be paid for the suitable applicant; Downer EDi Mining will also provide FIFO roster from any Australian Capital City with all meals and accommodation provided.
